What’s This?
A QR Code is a two-dimensional bar code created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.
QR Codes are common in Japan, where they are currently the most popular type of two dimensional codes. Moreover, most current mobile phones can read this code with their camera. |

Uses of QR Code
Although initially used for tracking parts in vehicle manufacturing, QR Codes are now used in a much broader context, including both commercial applications and marketing communications.
QR Codes may be embedded within the body of advertisements on posters, billboards, flyers, websites, magazine, and many other marketing and advertising channels. They may also appear on business cards, product packaging or just about any object that consumers might interact with.
Users with a camera phone equipped with the correct reader software can scan the image of the QR Code triggering a response by their mobile devices such as visiting a website, downloading a file, receiving text information, sending a text message to a certain number, saving contact details on their devices, and many other predefined responses that can be embedded within the QR Code.
